Meet Christina Traeger – A Passion for Sustainable Farming

Passionate and Knowledgeable

"I believe in raising animals naturally, and that means allowing them to roam freely and feed on what nature provides," says Christina. "That’s what makes our meats not just delicious, but also part of a bigger, more sustainable food system."

At Rolling Hills Cattle Company, Christina Traeger isn't just growing food—she’s cultivating a way of life. Christina’s farm, based in Minnesota, focuses on raising British White cattle, along with free-range chickens, ducks, geese, and pigs. What makes this farm special isn’t just the animals; it’s the deep commitment to sustainable farming that promotes soil health, biodiversity, and nutrient-rich food for your table... all driven by her dedication to free-range, antibiotic-free, and hormone-free practices.

Whether it’s a juicy steak, tender chicken, or smoked pork, every bite from Rolling Hills is a testament to the hard work and care that goes into sustainable farming.

No AI or “Minnesota Nice” Here!

As you know, AI doesn’t write my posts. Christina does! I am not here to bluff my way through farming. Or to feed you a bunch of watered down lemonade. You will always get authenticity, honesty, and integrity. Unlike the passive aggressive “Minnesota Nice” I prefer to tell it like I see it. Like it or not.

Farming isn’t easy. Neither is sitting staring at a screen all day. If you do that, my hat’s off to you, because too much time in front of this thing makes me a little more cuckoo every day. I am not good at house keeping, so if that’s your day job, again, hats off to you!

If you are a parent, Oh my, I did it, but I can clearly see it’s harder now that it was when I fumbled my way through it. If I can do it, anyone can do it. So I think you will rock it way better than I could. I will say, my own kids have pretty great kids, so somewhere I did a little something right.

Back to the Fun.

Fun here is bringing in the herd, and getting to see what the summer grass and the mama cows produced.

Fun here is taking the fat beefs, pigs, and birds to the processor, knowing the hardest work to produce them is done.

Fun here is seeing YOU, get your meats, eggs, and such from us, and knowing that while you will dress it up and make it a wonderful meal, I really love that I was able to do that work to get it there for you.

Fun on the Farm Brings a Silver Lining to Even the “Un-Fun” Stuff

Not every job at the farm is fun, but I do try to appreciate what it will mean. The repair to the shed means not having to listen to the metal bang all the time, the cleaned up feed lot means not getting stuck trying to feed the animals. There is a silver lining everywhere.

What’s your Silver Lining?
