FAQs
What makes Rolling Hills Cattle Company different?
We believe food should nourish more than your appetite—it should nourish your health, the animals, and the land it comes from. That's why every animal is raised with respect, on pasture, without corn, wheat, or soy, and without routine antibiotics or added hormones. We focus on producing nutrient-dense meats with incredible flavor while improving the soil for the next generation.
What does "100% grass-fed and grass-finished" actually mean?
It means our cattle eat grass for their entire lives—just like nature intended. They never spend time in a feedlot and are never finished on grain. During the growing season, they graze fresh pasture, and during Minnesota winters they enjoy high-quality stored hay harvested from our own land.
Why do you raise British White cattle?
We fell in love with British White cattle because they simply fit our philosophy. They're calm, hardy, efficient on pasture, and produce consistently tender, flavorful beef. We've spent decades building a herd that thrives on grass while producing beef we're proud to serve our own family.
Is your meat free from corn, wheat, and soy?
Yes. Our livestock are raised without corn, wheat, or soy in their diets. Many of our customers seek us out because they're looking for clean, allergen-friendly proteins they can trust. We're committed to raising food as naturally as possible.
Why does grass-fed beef taste different?
Real beef should taste like beef. Because our cattle grow at a natural pace on pasture, you'll notice a rich, clean flavor that reflects the land they grazed. Many customers tell us it reminds them of the beef they grew up eating decades ago.
Can I buy in bulk?
Absolutely. Whether you're looking for individual cuts, a monthly subscription box, or a quarter, half, or whole beef to stock your freezer, we have options that fit different families, budgets, and freezer sizes. If you're not sure what makes the most sense, we're always happy to help you choose.
Where does your meat come from?
Everything comes directly from our family farm in Avon, Minnesota. We know every pasture, every animal, and every step of the process. When you buy from Rolling Hills Cattle Company, you're buying directly from the people who raised your food.
Is grass-fed beef worth it?
We certainly think so. Grass-fed beef offers exceptional flavor, high-quality fats, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing exactly how your food was raised. For us, it's about more than labels—it's about producing food that supports healthier people while caring for the land that provides it.
How do I know which cuts are right for my family?
Don't worry—you don't have to be a beef expert. Whether you're feeding one person or a busy household, we'll help you choose the best option based on how you cook, how much freezer space you have, and what you enjoy eating most.
Why do you say your mission is to "Raise Beef that Heals"?
Because we believe healthy soil grows healthy grass, healthy grass raises healthy animals, and healthy animals produce nourishing food. It's a simple idea with a big impact. Every decision we make is centered around creating a better food system—one that's good for families, animals, and the land we'll leave behind.
